Diana Krall is the only jazz singer to have eight of her albums debut at number one on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. With a career spanning more than 25 years, she has won two Grammy®, ten Juno® Awards and accumulated several gold, platinum and multi-platinum records, establishing herself as one of the most recognizable artists in contemporary jazz.
Born in Nanaimo, British Columbia, she began studying piano at the age of four and playing jazz locally at fifteen, influenced by her father, a pianist and jazz connoisseur of the 1920s and 1930s. He studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music and later moved to Los Angeles, where he met musicians such as Ray Brown, who became his musical mentor.
His international success came with When I Look in Your Eyes (1999), his first album with Verve Records, which spent 52 weeks at number one on the Billboard Jazz and won two Grammys. Since then, he has released albums such as The Look of Love, Turn Up The Quiet and This Dream Of You, with collaborations with Tony Bennett, Paul McCartney and Barbra Streisand.
Diana Krall combines vocal virtuosity, piano and emotional performance, and tours the world on sold-out tours, performing at the most prestigious festivals and concert halls in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
