Pénique Productions is an artistic project led by Sergi Arbusà that focuses on the creation of ephemeral and site-specific inflatable installations that completely transform the architectural space that hosts them. His practice is based on the occupation of volume by means of large monochrome plastic membranes inflated with air, which invade corridors, courtyards, halls and entire buildings. These interventions turn architecture into an immersive experience in which light, color and spatial perception are radically altered. With a simple and direct visual language, but with a great sensory impact, it invites us to rethink the way we inhabit and experience everyday spaces.
Since 2008, the collective develops its activity between Barcelona and Rio de Janeiro, and has carried out projects in museums, galleries, art festivals, public institutions and events around the world, until consolidating itself as an international reference in the field of contemporary installation.
On this occasion, Pénique Productions will share with us their creative process and reflect on how, for a few moments, the relationship we have with the architectural space can be transformed from top to bottom.
The activity is framed in the context of Barcelona 2026, World Capital of Architecture.
